HFHK in partnerships with the County governments, through the AHSH program provides a platform for dissemination of affordable housing solutions by giving information, knowledge and skills to the community. The overall strategy of the AHSH is to create a hub for transferring and showcasing building technologies and spur adoption by constructing community and school infrastructure. The objective here is to initiate transfer of knowledge and skills to the community through partnerships and ease access to learning in both rural and urban contexts.
HFHK therefore will focus on engaging with partners who bring additional critical poverty reduction support e.g. water and sanitation, energy, health, and livelihoods. HFHK’s strategic thrust includes moving from a focus on direct construction to an integrated multi-sector community based approach and working with multiple partners, while maintaining its focus on improving housing conditions.
