
Dr. Eileen Mokaya has joined Habitat for Humanity Kenya as the new National Director. Previously, she has worked with the Education Development Centre (EDC) and served as Chief of Party for the USAID Integrated Child and Youth Development (ICYD) Activity in Uganda. She has also held senior roles at Pathfinder International, overseeing programs in Kenya and Uganda. Her experience also includes roles at Plan International and as Chief Executive Officer of the African Centre for Capacity Development.
Eileen brings over 25 years of leadership experience in national, regional and international development across sub-Saharan Africa. Her expertise spans program design and management, capacity building, gender and systems strengthening, and inclusive development.
Eileen holds a Ph.D in Development Studies from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, a Master’s in Sociology, and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the university of Nairobi.
As National Director, she will lead Habitat for Humanity Kenya’s strategic direction, strengthen partnerships, and drive our mission to expand access to decent housing in Kenya. Her people-centred leadership will be key to deepening our impact in Kenya and contributing to Habitat for Humanity’s broader goals across the region.
